About

Who is behind Bouncy Feet

The initiative behind the project came from Jakob Meier, a shuffler born in 1995, shuffling since around 2012. But it took him 11 years to finally join a weekly shuffle dance class in 2023. Which just goes to show how hard it can be to find like-minded people and bring up the courage to go and shuffle outside the safety of home.

The vision then was to create a platform that makes is easier to take part in the global shuffle community. Thus, Bouncy Feet the app was born.

While the app and the trademark Bouncy Feet belong to the company Bouncy Feet GmbH, an LLC registered in Switzerland, the source code and the content on the platform belong to the community and its members.

This is important because the real value will come from people using the app and filling it with quality content that’s worth sharing. In that sense, it is really the community of all its users that are behind the things you see on Bouncy Feet. Today, this is more of a dream than a reality because the software needs a bit more work to truly facilitate this plan. But one things is for sure, the success of Bouncy Feet as it is envisioned, relies completely on inputs from the community.
